General Motors Co will cancel some truck production shifts this weekend at two U.S. auto plants because of the ongoing semiconductor shortage, the company said.
General Motors Co and Volkswagen AG are suspending some of their operations in Mexico due to a natural gas shortage, while Audi AG will adjust production in line with supply, the automakers said in separate statements on Wednesday.
General Motors Co said it was setting a goal to sell all its new cars, SUVs and light pickup trucks with zero tailpipe emissions by 2035, a dramatic shift by the largest U.S. automaker away from gasoline and diesel engines.
