The Supreme Court is hearing the case alleging a deep-rooted conspiracy in the Delhi riots. Umar Khalid and other petitioners have challenged the Delhi High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court.
Although Additional Solicitor General sought two week time but, the bench said it would hear the matter on Friday. Infact the bench commented, “Strictly speaking, there is no need to file a reply in bail matters.”
The Delhi High Court denied bail to Sharjeel Imam, Umar Khalid and others, calling the 2020 riots a pre-planned conspiracy, not mere protest. All accused remain in custody under UAPA.
