Five District Magistrates from Uttar Pradesh will be honoured at UP Godhan Samagam 2026 in Lucknow for outstanding work in stray cattle protection and cow shelter management.
Hardoi DM Anunay Jha Among Officers Selected for Cow Protection Award
Lucknow: Five District Magistrates who have performed commendably in the field of stray cattle protection in Uttar Pradesh will be honored at the 'UP Godhan Samagam 2026'. This honor will be presented at an event held in Lucknow. The state government has selected District Magistrates who have achieved notable achievements in cow protection, fodder management, and cow shelter management in their respective districts.
Anunaya Jha, District Magistrate, Hardoi, will be honored for his work in protecting stray cattle and strengthening the operation of cow shelters. Under his leadership, hundreds of cow shelters in the district were operated efficiently and special campaigns were launched for fodder production. Veterinary services were also strengthened.
Sanjeev Ranjan, District Magistrate, Aligarh, played a key role in the development of cow shelters and increasing fodder production. Nidhi Gupta Vats, District Magistrate, Amroha, will also be honored for outstanding management and innovations. In Amroha, the participation of female veterinarians and improved infrastructure have been recognized.
Rajesh Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate of Jalaun, made significant contributions to increasing the number of cow shelters and strengthening the fodder system.
Harshita Mathur, District Magistrate of Rae Bareli, will also be honored for effective implementation in cow protection. Her district's fodder production and cow shelter management are being seen as a model.

The felicitation ceremony will be held in Lucknow, where selected District Magistrates will be awarded for their outstanding work. The government aims to inspire other districts to do better work in the field of cow protection.
