Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched a strong attack on the Centre following the NEET UG 2026 controversy, asking what guarantee exists that the re-exam will not also be leaked.
In a post on X, he said the ongoing controversy has caused “immense outrage and despair” among millions of students and their families, blaming what he called a “corrupt system” under the BJP government.
जब तक भाजपा… pic.twitter.com/ZgsPvBonfa

He further questioned the credibility of the examination process, stating that repeated leaks have eroded public trust in competitive exams.
In his post, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that as long as the BJP remains in power, the examination system will continue to suffer from paper leak issues.
He claimed that the system would only be corrected once there is a change in government, and described the present administration as a “failed government.”
His remarks come at a time when lakhs of students across the country are facing uncertainty after the NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled and a re-exam was announced.
The controversy erupted after the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam conducted on May 3 amid allegations of paper leaks and irregularities. The Centre has also ordered a CBI investigation into the matter.
The issue has now turned into a major political flashpoint, with opposition parties targeting the government over repeated examination controversies and demanding reforms in the recruitment and entrance exam system.
Meanwhile, students and parents remain anxious as they wait for fresh examination dates and clarity on the revised schedule.
The repeated allegations of leaks have sparked concern among aspirants who fear uncertainty in high-stakes competitive exams. Education experts have stressed the need for stronger security systems and digital safeguards to restore trust.
The political debate is expected to intensify further as investigations continue and opposition leaders continue to raise questions over exam transparency.
