Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Puja Pal has been expelled from the party, after which she gave an emotional reaction and described herself as "a victim first." This expulsion came after she praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the UP Assembly, saying that the CM got her justice in her husband's murder case.

Why was she expelled?

Puja Pal praised the Yogi government's "zero tolerance" policy during the discussion on "Vision Document 2047" in the assembly. She said that the Yogi government got her justice in action against criminals like Atiq Ahmed, while others remained silent. This statement did not go down well with SP's Akhilesh Yadav, who immediately expelled her from the party.

Emotional response of Puja Pal

After the expulsion, Puja Pal said, "I am the voice of all the women of Prayagraj who have lost their loved ones. I was sent as an MLA so that I can share their pain." She stressed that Yogi Adityanath got justice not only for her but for all the families who were affected by Atiq Ahmed. She said, "I stand by my statement even today. I am a victimized wife first, then an MLA."

Questions on SP's 'PDA' Policy

Puja Pal also questioned the SP's PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) formula: "They talk of PDA, but I myself am from a backward community. When my husband was murdered, no one came to my aid." She indicated that the SP actually uses PDA for political gains, not for the victims.

Political reactions

UP's Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak called the SP's action "reprehensible." Political analysts believe that this case shows how there can be a conflict between personal experience and party line.

Will Puja Pal join BJP now? What are speculations?

This expulsion of Puja Pal shows the conflict between her personal pain and political loyalty. Now the question is whether she will continue her politics by joining the BJP or will continue to raise her voice for the victims independently. Her statement that "I was just demanding justice" underlines the importance of ethics in politics.
