Lucknow: Following the recent expansion of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to hold his first crucial cabinet meeting on Monday. The session is expected to attract close attention at both political and administrative levels, with several key decisions likely to be taken.

All senior ministers, including Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with the newly inducted ministers, are expected to attend. Sources indicate that proposals related to the state’s development, law and order, and public welfare may receive approval during the meeting.

Portfolio Allocations for New Ministers on the Agenda

Discussions on the allocation of portfolios to the new ministers are also expected to feature prominently. Chief Minister Adityanath is likely to issue directives regarding priorities, work culture, and responsibilities for the new team. Political analysts suggest that the cabinet expansion reflects an effort to balance social and regional representation ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, with attention to Brahmin, OBC, and Dalit communities.

New Inductees and Promotions

The cabinet expansion brought in six new faces, while two Ministers of State were promoted. Notably, former BJP State President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and Manoj Kumar Pandey, who recently joined BJP from the Samajwadi Party, took the oath as Cabinet Ministers.

Ajit Singh Pal and Somendra Tomar were appointed as Ministers of State (Independent Charge), while Krishna Paswan (Khaga, Fatehpur), Surendra Diler (Khair, Aligarh), Kailash Singh Rajput (Tirwa, Kannauj), and Hansraj Vishwakarma (MLC, Varanasi) were appointed as Ministers of State.

Strategic Focus Ahead

The first meeting of the expanded cabinet is seen as an indicator of the government’s administrative and political priorities. Observers believe it will provide clarity on development plans, governance strategies, and the state government’s roadmap leading up to the next elections.
