The government has completely rejected reports circulating on social media claiming that the minimum wage would be set at ₹20,000. Calling this information "fabricated and false," the government has urged people to trust only official sources.
According to the government, this increase is interim, and a Wage Board will be formed soon. This board will review all aspects related to workers' wages and, based on its recommendations, a permanent wage structure will be established. Furthermore, the central government is also working towards implementing a uniform floor wage under the new labor codes.
