Maharajganj: A grand mass marriage programme was organised under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme at the ground of an inter college in Adda Bazaar, located in Nautanwa tehsil of Maharajganj district. More than 300 couples were married during the event.

Couples from both Muslim and Hindu communities solemnised their marriages according to their respective traditional rituals. District administration officials and local leaders were present on the occasion.

The objective of the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme is to provide financial assistance for the marriages of daughters and sisters from poor and underprivileged families. Under this scheme, the government provides financial support to economically weaker families so they can conduct their daughters’ weddings with dignity and celebration.

During the programme, emphasis was also laid on strengthening social unity and harmony, as the scheme offers equal opportunities to couples from all religions and castes.
