Delhi’s Justice system comes to a halt, thousands of lawyers protest against LG; Watch video

New Delhi: In the country’s National Capital Delhi, lawyers have taken to the streets against the recent notification issued by the LG (Lieutenant Governor). The lawyers’ strike has been going on for the last six days in all the district courts of Delhi. The Delhi Bar Association issued a notice on Wednesday, making it clear that till this notification is not withdrawn, the lawyers will not participate in the court proceedings either physically or through video conferencing.

What Is The Root Of Controversy?

In the notification issued by the Lieutenant Governor, the police have been allowed to send evidence directly from the police stations to the court. Lawyers say that this decision will seriously affect the judicial process. They argue that unless the lawyer questions the policeman in the court, the truth cannot come out. Many reports lodged in police stations are also false, in such a situation this order is against the basic principles of justice.

Ground Report From Tis Hazari Court

On Thursday, the Dynamite News team reached Tis Hazari Court, where the anger of the lawyers was clearly visible. A large number of lawyers raised strong slogans inside and outside the court and protested against the LG. They took out a march and said that if this order is implemented, the entire justice system will collapse.

Concrete Action Is Needed

The lawyers say that they want concrete decisions, not just assurances. They say that the strike will continue until this notification is withdrawn. They also demanded that the circular issued by the Home Secretary of the Central Government on July 15, 2024 be followed.

Delhiites’ Fight

The lawyers claim that this movement is not just for them, but for all those who are facing criminal cases. This notification is violating the constitutional rights of the citizens. This fight is being fought to protect the right to justice for future generations.
