Bengaluru: Bengaluru witnessed a shocking case of road rage when two bikers engaged in a violent confrontation in the middle of a busy road during peak office hours. A video shared on X by the handle Karnataka Portfolio shows the men repeatedly hitting each other with punches and helmets on Tin Factory Road, a stretch already notorious for heavy traffic congestion.

Incident Captured by Commuter

The footage was reportedly recorded by a commuter traveling in an office cab. While the full circumstances leading to the altercation remain unclear, it appears that the fight was triggered when the two bikers brushed against each other while riding side by side, causing one rider to almost lose balance.

Instead of resolving the matter calmly, both men lost their temper and began attacking each other in the middle of the road.

Danger to Public Safety

The video highlights not only the aggression of the individuals involved but also the serious risk such behaviour poses to other commuters, pedestrians, and motorists.

Experts and commentators on social media have noted that reckless acts like these can lead to serious injuries or even fatalities. The post shared on X described the fight as “a classic case of road rage triggered by impatience and lack of self-control.”

Call for Civic Responsibility

Authorities and social media users alike have stressed the need for restraint on Bengaluru’s crowded roads. The post urged commuters to exercise patience, respect other road users, and avoid letting personal egos dictate behaviour behind the wheel. As one user pointed out, traffic congestion is a shared challenge, and “a few seconds of patience could have avoided this ugly situation.”

Bengaluru Police Respond

The Bengaluru City Police responded to the viral clip, stating that they had forwarded the complaint to the local authorities, including @DcpEastBcp, @AcpHalasuru, and @byappanahallips, for necessary action. Meanwhile, users highlighted infrastructural issues such as faulty road design, lack of lane markers, poor lighting, and broken footpaths, which can contribute to traffic-related stress and accidents.

Incidents like this underline the importance of patience, civic sense, and responsible behaviour on the roads. While traffic woes can test anyone’s patience, letting anger take control not only endangers oneself but also puts countless others at risk.
