Patna: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Janata Dal United has taken major and strict action. Nitish Kumar expelled 11 of its leaders from the party last Saturday. Today, his party has taken action against five more individuals, including Gopal Mandal.

Who was taken action against on Saturday?
JDU State General Secretary Chandan Kumar Singh issued the expulsion letter. The prominent leaders who have been suspended include former Munger-Jamalpur minister Shailesh Kumar, former Jamui-Chakai Legislative Council member Sanjay Prasad, former Siwan-Baraharia MLA Shyam Bahadur Singh, former Bhojpur-Barahara MLC Ranvijay Singh, former Sheikhpura-Barbigha MLA Sudarshan Kumar, Amar Kumar Singh, a resident of Sahebpur Kamal in Begusarai district, Dr. Asma Parveen of Vaishali, Luv Kumar of Aurangabad, Asha Suman of Katihar, Divyanshu Bhardwaj of East Champaran, and Vivek Shukla of Siwan. The party stated that indiscipline and anti-party activities will not be tolerated during the elections.

Gopal Mandal was upset over ticket denial.
It should be noted that Gopal Mandal, a four-time MLA from Bhagalpur’s Gopalpur assembly seat, was expelled from the party by the Janata Dal (United) on Sunday. The JDU state general secretary issued a letter announcing this. Gopal Mandal has been a four-time MLA from Gopalpur. This time, the party denied him his ticket, after which he is contesting the election as an independent.

State General Secretary and Headquarters Incharge Chandan Kumar Singh issued a letter accusing Gopal Mandal of engaging in anti-organization activities and acting against the party’s ideology. The letter stated that Gopal Mandal had consistently violated the party’s organizational discipline and, despite repeated warnings, had failed to behave within the party’s decorum. Consequently, he was expelled from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect.

He broke down in tears after filing his nomination as an independent.

Eight days ago, Gopal Mandal filed his nomination as an independent. Addressing a public meeting, he broke down in tears. Addressing his supporters, he declared, “The fight is over. Nitish Kumar was misled and my ticket was denied. If I have made any mistakes, please forgive me and vote for me once. I have never done anything wrong and will never do it again.”
