BJP is set to announce its Bihar seat-sharing and candidate list today. Will NDA’s strategy secure a decisive edge? Political insiders and voters wait eagerly as the alliance’s gameplan for 2025 begins to unfold.
BJP Seat-sharing, ticket announcements today
Patna: Addressing a press conference, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state chief Dilip Jaiswal said the party will make significant announcements regarding seat-sharing with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners and tickets for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections 2025 today, October 12.
The announcements, scheduled for later today, are expected to clarify BJP’s strategy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections which begin with the first phase of nominations.
The NDA comprising BJP, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, has been in intense negotiations over seat allocation. JD(U) is expected to contest around 101–102 seats, while BJP may contest slightly fewer, though final numbers are yet to be confirmed.
Smaller allies, including HAM(S) and RLM, are lobbying for additional seats, which has delayed the formal announcement. Political analysts suggest that the final formula will determine the alliance’s performance in key constituencies.
The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections will take place on November 6.
In parallel, BJP has been fast-tracking candidate selection. A core committee met at the residence of BJP National President JP Nadda to shortlist nominees. This list will be submitted to the Central Election Committee (CEC) for final approval.
Party sources said that the BJP aims to release its first official candidate list soon, ensuring that all constituencies are represented ahead of nomination deadlines.
Amid media speculation about rifts within the NDA, leaders from several constituent parties have dismissed such claims. Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha urged supporters to ignore unverified reports, stating that discussions are ongoing and emphasizing that the alliance remains united. BJP sources also stressed that internal discussions are part of routine election preparations and not indicative of discord.
Bihar Elections 2025: What’s behind BJP’s impending NDA seat-sharing announcement?
With the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled to begin on November 6, political observers and voters are closely following developments within the NDA. The announcement of seat-sharing and candidate lists will offer clarity on how the alliance plans to position itself against the opposition, including the INDIA Alliance.
Analysts believe that today’s announcements could significantly influence campaign strategies and voter sentiment in the coming weeks.
The BJP’s formal announcement is expected to set the tone for the NDA’s campaign, with alliances, ticket allocations, and campaign priorities becoming clearer to the public and political stakeholders alike.
