With Bihar elections nearing, will BJP resolve internal rifts within NDA and finalize seat-sharing? How will PM Modi, Amit Shah’s roles impact alliances? Discover what’s at stake and when the first joint candidate list is likely to be out.
Bihar elections 2025 result will be declared on November 14.
Patna: As Bihar gears up for the 2025 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the verge of announcing the final seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This announcement, expected in the next couple of days, comes amid swirling rumors of discord and disagreements among alliance partners.
The BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) is scheduled to convene on October 12 at 6:30 PM in New Delhi to discuss and confirm the party’s candidates and election strategy. This critical meeting will be attended by key leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Recent weeks saw growing speculation about potential fractures within the NDA over seat distribution. Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), reportedly demanded 36 “winnable” seats out of Bihar’s 243 constituencies.
However, BJP sources suggest the party is only willing to allocate 22 seats to his party. Meanwhile, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi publicly demanded 15 seats, hinting at a possible exit from the alliance if his demands are not met.
BJP expected to announce NDA seat-sharing for Bihar elections within 2 days.
Despite these speculations, BJP Bihar State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal has downplayed any major disagreements, stating that a final decision on seat-sharing will be reached within the next day or two. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has authorized Chirag Paswan to make decisions concerning NDA alliances, which could streamline the negotiation process.
Ahead of the CEC meeting, BJP’s Bihar Core Group is set to meet on October 11 in Delhi to shortlist candidates. A panel of three potential candidates per seat has already been prepared. The final candidate list, expected to be jointly announced by NDA partners on October 13, will mark the formal launch of the NDA’s election campaign in Bihar.
This strategy session will focus heavily on strengthening BJP’s foothold in key constituencies and solidifying alliance partnerships.
The upcoming Bihar Assembly elections are being viewed as a high-stakes contest primarily between the NDA—led by BJP and Janata Dal (United)—and the Mahagathbandhan or INDIA bloc, spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The INDIA alliance also includes the Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, CPM, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Adding complexity to the race is Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party, a new entrant aiming to contest all 243 seats and disrupt the traditional power balance in Bihar politics.
The Election Commission has scheduled the polls in two phases—November 6 and November 11—with counting slated for November 14.
As the NDA gears up to announce its seat-sharing formula, all eyes are on how BJP manages internal alliance dynamics and counters opposition strategies. Will the party successfully navigate demands from partners like the Lok Janshakti Party and HAM? How will top leaders Modi and Shah influence final decisions?
The coming days will be crucial in shaping Bihar’s electoral battlefield and determining the alliances’ strength going into the polls.
