Police reached the accident spot
Patna: In a horrific incident eight people were killed while five were seriously injured in road accident on Saturday morning in Daniyawan of Shahjahanpur police station area of Patna district. The accident happened when all the people were going from Nalanda to Fatuha for Ganga bath in an auto. On the way, a speeding truck hit the auto. The collision was so severe that the auto was completely broken.
The truck driver left the vehicle and ran away. Local people immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and started rescue work. The injured people were admitted to the nearest hospital, where they were referred to Patna in view of their critical condition.
Bihar: Five killed, 15 injured in road accident in Saran
According to the information, all the passengers were residents of Reri Malma village of Hilsa police station area of Nalanda district. They were going to Fatuha for Ganga bath. The accident happened near Ultratech factory. In this, seven people died on the spot, while one injured person died during treatment in Patna hospital.

Even after three hours, the bodies were not removed. SDM and administrative officials of Patna City reached the spot. Local people are demanding that the truck which hit the bodies should be caught and its driver should be caught before removing the bodies. The district administration is trying to convince the people.
Hilsa MLA Krishna Murari Sharan also reached the spot and demanded a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the family of each deceased. There is a tense atmosphere at the spot. Patna district administration has immediately given financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each to the deceased. After the post-mortem, compensation will be given by Nalanda district administration.

The deceased include seven women and one man. The treatment of six seriously injured people is going on in Patna. The deceased are being identified and the police is investigating the entire matter. The search for the absconding truck driver is on.
