Bihar has delivered an impressive performance in the UPSC results 2025, with five candidates securing positions in the top 20. The achievement highlights the state’s growing academic excellence and inspiring success stories.

Patna: The results of the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination 2025 have once again highlighted the strong academic performance of candidates from Bihar.
This year, five aspirants from the state secured positions in the top 20 of the prestigious examination, underlining Bihar’s reputation as a hub of talented civil services aspirants. Out of the total 958 successful candidates nationwide, more than 50 belong to Bihar, marking a significant achievement for the state.

Among the successful candidates, Raghav Jhunjhunwala from Muzaffarpur secured the highest rank from the state by finishing fourth in the country.
A graduate in economics from University of Delhi, Jhunjhunwala achieved success in his third attempt. He credited his achievement to consistency, hard work and the unwavering support of his family.
Apart from Jhunjhunwala, four other candidates from Bihar also secured places in the top 20. These include Ujjwal Priyank from Vaishali who secured the 10th rank, Yashasvi Rajvardhan from Saran at 11th rank, Monika Srivastava from Aurangabad at 16th rank and Ravi Raj from Nawada who secured the 20th position.
Their achievements reflect the dedication and preparation that civil services aspirants from smaller towns continue to demonstrate.
One of the most inspiring stories among the successful candidates is that of Ravi Raj from Nawada. Despite being completely visually impaired, he managed to secure the 20th rank in the examination.

Ravi had earlier secured the 182nd rank in 2024 and is currently undergoing training for the Indian Revenue Service in Nagpur. This year marked his fifth attempt at the examination, demonstrating extraordinary perseverance, NBT Times reported.
Several other candidates from Bihar also performed strongly. Ishitav Anand from Patna secured the 50th rank, while Akash Kumar finished at 101st position. Candidates from Samastipur and Bhojpur also featured among the successful aspirants.
According to the UPSC, the final list includes 958 candidates, with 659 men and 299 women, reflecting a diverse group of future administrators for the country.
