Ownly by Rapido offers food delivery at 15% lower prices
New Delhi: Popular bike-taxi company Rapido has joined the food delivery market to take on Zomato and Swiggy. The business has begun testing Ownly a food delivery service that is presently in beta testing and has only been introduced in a few locations. The cities and regions that are currently benefiting from Rapido's food delivery service will be revealed to you.
A TechCrunch report claims that Ownlys goal is quite obvious. It will offer you food at a price that is roughly 15% less expensive than Swiggy and Zomato. This is made possible by the fact that it does not impose a commission of up to 30% on restaurants in contrast to its competitors.
Rather it operates on a model where each order has a set cost. The report claims that Rapido will restrict the delivery area which will lead to two benefits - Lower fuel expenses and consumption and quicker food delivery from eateries to patrons.
The menu will be created to optimize the restaurants profits for the benefit of the impacted patrons the report also states. It appears that Rapidos new service which offers inexpensive food could pose a challenge to Swiggy and Zomato. The Ownly service has been rolled out in Byrasandra Madiwala (BTM) Layout Tavarekere Koramangala and Hosur Sarjapura Road (HSR) Layout areas of Bengaluru founder and CEO Arvind Sanka told TechCrunch. Through its fully-owned subsidiary Ctrlx Technologies Rapido has introduced Ownly.
Beginning in 2015 with bike and taxi's Rapido has since grown to include auto, rickshaws, parcel delivery third-party logistics and most recently taxi services.
Recently Rapido and Gogoro of Taiwan partnered to develop battery-swapping electric two-wheelers.
