On 27 August 2025, he had uploaded a public video on social media making serious allegations against his family. In the video, Aqil claimed that he had discovered an illicit relationship between his father and his own wife, further accusing his mother and sister of conspiring to kill him or implicate him in a false case.

The video went viral shortly before his death, leading to widespread public discussion and demands for an impartial investigation.

Transfer of Case to the CBI

Initially, the case was being investigated by Haryana Police, which had registered FIR No. 131 dated 20 October 2025 at Mansa Devi Complex Police Station, Panchkula.

However, given the high-profile nature of the accused and allegations of family conspiracy, the Haryana Government transferred the probe to the CBI for an independent and transparent investigation.
