New Delhi: Former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, his wife and ex-minister Razia Sultana, their daughter, and daughter-in-law have been booked for the murder of their son, Aqil Akhtar in Panchkula on the night of October 16. Aqil was 35. His body was found on the same day.

Haryana Police on Tuesday filed a murder case against them. Police have also formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case.

Video Against Mother, Wife and Sister

On October 20, a case was registered at the MDC police station in Panchkula under charges of murder and conspiracy. The FIR names former DGP Mustafa, former minister Sultan, and Aqeel Akhtar's wife and sister as accused.

Allegations Regarding Father-Daughter-in-Law Relationship

Aqeel Akhtar had made a video before his death, which has now surfaced online. In this video, Aqeel accused his father, former DGP Mohammad Mustafa, of having an illicit relationship with his wife. He also made serious allegations against his mother, Razia Sultana, and sister of conspiring against him.

Family Claims

Following Aqeel's death, the family stated that he died due to a drug overdose. But the emergence of this video, recorded on August 27, has raised new questions about the cause of his death. Police had previously stated that preliminary investigations suggested Aqeel likely suffered health complications from a drug overdose.

Mohammad Mustafa, who retired from the Punjab Police in 2021, later joined the Congress party. His wife, Razia Sultana, is a senior Congress leader, a three-time MLA from Malerkotla and a former Punjab minister.
