New Delhi: A 21-year-old girl, daughter of an Indian Revenue Service officer, was found dead at her residence in Amar Colony, prompting a major investigation by the Delhi Police.

Preliminary findings suggest that the woman may have been sexually assaulted before being killed. Officials stated that the victim was allegedly strangled using a mobile phone charger cable. The exact sequence of events is still being pieced together by investigators.

Former Domestic Worker Under Suspicion

Police sources indicated that suspicion has fallen on a former domestic worker who had previously been employed at the victim’s residence. Authorities are questioning individuals connected to the household as part of the probe.

Forensic teams have been deployed, and evidence is being collected to establish both the motive and the circumstances surrounding the crime. Officials said further clarity will emerge as the investigation progresses.

A senior police officer said the incident was reported on Wednesday while her parents were out for a walk. It is suspected that the house help entered the residence and killed the woman.

"He was recently removed from his job," police said. Investigators added that there is a strong possibility she was strangled using wires. Dedicated police teams have been formed to apprehend the suspect, and officers are currently scanning CCTV footage from across Amar Colony to track the individual's escape route.

Parallel Case: Elderly Woman Assaulted in Burari

In a separate incident in Burari, police have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of repeatedly assaulting his 67-year-old mother. The incident reportedly took place on April 17 following a domestic dispute.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly returned home in an intoxicated state after an argument involving his teenage daughter, who later left the house. The elderly woman was then allegedly restrained and assaulted through the night.
