New Delhi: An elderly couple was found murdered at their residence in Shahdara in the early hours of Sunday. As soon as the information was received, the police rushed to the scene and found the bodies of the husband and wife in separate rooms.

The deceased have been identified as Virendra Kumar Bansal (75) and his wife Pravesh Bansal (65).

A case has been registered under relevant sections. A preliminary examination revealed injury marks on the face of Virender Kumar Bansal.
While the exact motive behind the murders could not be ascertained immediately, the police said that a robbery angle cannot be ruled out. Further investigation is undergoing.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found two bodies in two separate rooms on the third floor of the house. The deceased were identified as 65-year-old Pravesh Bansal and 75-year-old Virendra Kumar Bansal. Virendra Kumar Bansal was a retired teacher, while Pravesh Bansal was a homemaker.

Injury marks were found on Virendra Kumar Bansal's face, further deepening the suspicion of murder. Following initial investigations, a crime team and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team were called to the scene. They meticulously examined the crime scene and collected evidence. The entire crime scene was also photographed.

Both bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Police say that the possibility of robbery cannot be ruled out, although all aspects are being investigated to determine the real motive behind the murders.

Currently, the police are questioning people in the surrounding area and examining other technical evidence, including footage from the house's CCTV cameras. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the locality. Police say that the case will be solved soon and the culprits will be arrested.
