The blaze, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, engulfed a multi-storey building within hours. Eyewitnesses alleged delays and lapses in fire brigade response, while officials stated multiple fire tenders were deployed.
New Delhi: A massive fire in a multi-story building in Sadh Nagar, Palam, Delhi, has claimed the lives of nine people, leaving three seriously injured. All the injured have been hospitalized. According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a short circuit and engulfed the entire building within a few hours.
Local residents allege that fire brigade vehicles did not arrive on time, leading to the fire's massive spread. According to eyewitnesses, rescue and relief efforts were initially hampered by a lack of equipment and technical difficulties. Residents also claimed that many lives could have been saved if proper arrangements had been made in time.
Following the incident, a heavy police force has been deployed in the area, and the entire area has been barricaded. The FSL team and other agencies are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, officials say that approximately 27 fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
The matter has become entangled between local residents' allegations and the administration's claims. Now, there are demands for an impartial investigation into the entire incident, so that the truth can be revealed and such incidents can be prevented in the future.
