Palghar: A shocking crime has come to light from Maharashtra’s Palghar district, where a 19-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by six men after being forcibly taken to an abandoned dak bungalow in the Talasari area. Police have launched an investigation, with one accused arrested and three others detained for questioning.
According to the police complaint, the incident occurred when the woman had gone out with a male friend. The two were reportedly near a highway when six men allegedly arrived on two motorcycles and confronted them.
The accused allegedly forced the woman to go with them to an isolated abandoned dak bungalow nearby, where the assault reportedly took place.
Following the incident, the survivor approached the police and lodged a complaint at Talasari Police Station. A case has been registered against all six accused under relevant sections of law.
Police teams have arrested one accused in connection with the case, while three others have been detained for questioning. Efforts are underway to trace the remaining suspects who are reportedly absconding.
Investigators are questioning the accused and collecting evidence to establish the sequence of events. Statements of the survivor, her friend and other witnesses are also being recorded as part of the probe.
A police team visited the alleged crime spot and is examining available evidence from the abandoned structure. Officials are also verifying the role of each accused and their involvement in the incident.
Authorities have assured that further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
