How ​​did the incident come to light?

The case came to light when a woman, who works as a customer care representative, lodged a complaint that at around 10:20 pm on August 30, she was at Shani Bazaar, Kishangarh Village, in Southwest Delhi, where a stranger tried to record her objectionable video with a lighter-sized camera.

FIR registered, investigation team formed

On the complaint of the woman, the police registered a case at Kishangarh police station under Section 77/78 (voyeurism and stalking) of BNS. Given the sensitivity of the incident, a special investigation team was formed, which included several policemen, including Sub-Inspector Divya Yadav.

Reached the accused through CCTV and intelligence information

During the investigation, CCTV footage was thoroughly examined, and pictures of the suspect were circulated in the surrounding areas. With the help of local beat staff and intelligence sources, the police identified the accused and took him into custody.

The pilot turned out to be the accused and confessed to the crime

The arrested accused has been identified as Mohit Priyatarshi, age 31 years, resident of Civil Lines, Agra (UP). During interrogation, he confessed that he had been doing such acts since December 2023 and was doing all this for “self-satisfaction.” A spy camera (lighter size) has been recovered from him.

According to the police, Mohit is a pilot of a private airline and is unmarried. So far no evidence has been found to link him to any gang, but further investigation is ongoing. The police is also investigating whether he used these videos anywhere else.
