Red Fort Blast: Delhi Police summons Al Falah Chairman Javed Ahmed Siddiqui

An official said that Siddiqui has been asked to appear before the Crime Branch with documents relating to the accreditation and funding of the Al Falah Charitable Trust, which runs as many as nine organisations – including the Al Falah Medical Research Foundation.

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has summoned the Chairman of Al Falah University, Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, in connection with alleged fraud and irregularities in the University after the November 10 blast outside Red Fort. The irregularities were found by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

An official said that Siddiqui has been asked to appear before the Crime Branch with documents relating to the accreditation and funding of the Al Falah Charitable Trust, which runs as many as nine organisations – including the Al Falah Medical Research Foundation (AFMRF). The blast accused Umar Nabi and Muzammil Ganai were employed in the AFMRF.

The officer said, “He (Siddiqui) has been asked to submit documents relating to his firm, the trust, and all records concerning the university’s accreditation under the UGC. The notice has been issued under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act.”
