Megastar Chiranjeevi will be honoured with the prestigious NTR National Film Award by the Telangana government. The state also announced the winners of the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2025, recognising excellence in cinema.
Chiranjeevi has won the prestigious NTR National Film Award
New Delhi: Veteran actor Chiranjeevi has won the prestigious NTR National Film Award, the Government of Telangana announced on Saturday. The honour recognises his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema over several decades.
The announcement was made alongside the winners of the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2025 (TGFA), which celebrate achievements across various categories in the film industry.
The government also announced that veteran actor Kamal Haasan will receive the Paddy Jayaraj Film Award, which honours personalities who have made significant contributions to Indian cinema.
The list of awardees was submitted to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka by Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Venkat Ramana Reddy and the jury panel.
The jury included noted names from the film industry such as actor-writer Tanikella Bharani, music composer Mani Sharma, and producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj.

Several artists and technicians were recognised for their contributions to cinema. Actor Naga Chaitanya won the Best Leading Actor award for his performance in Thandel, while Rashmika Mandanna received the Best Leading Actress award for The Girlfriend.
Veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao was honoured with the B.N. Reddy Film Award for Best Director in Telugu cinema. Renowned producer C. Ashwini Dutt was selected for the Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani Film Award for Best Producer.
Actor R. Narayana Murthy will receive the T.L. Kantha Rao Film Award, while producer Ramesh Prasad has been chosen for the Raghupathi Venkaiah Film Award in the non-artist category.
In addition, lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja will be honoured with the C. Narayana Reddy Film Award, and veteran actress Jayasudha will receive the Akkineni Nageswara Rao Film Award.

The Telangana government introduced the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards to honour the legacy of late folk singer and activist Gaddar. The awards were instituted after the Indian National Congress government assumed power in the state in December 2023.
In the feature film category, Raju Weds Rambai was selected as the Best Film, followed by Dandora and The Great Pre-Wedding Show as second and third best films.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan congratulated his elder brother Chiranjeevi and the other award winners, expressing happiness over the recognition.
