New Delhi: The box office battle this weekend has turned into a one-sided race as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its strong run across theatres. While the superhero film is attracting huge crowds, new releases including Pankaj Tripathi-starrer Oh My Dog and the South Indian film DC: The Bloody Valentine have recorded mixed results.
With multiple films competing for audience attention, Spider-Man has emerged as the clear winner, leaving the newly released films far behind in terms of earnings.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has maintained its impressive momentum since release. The film collected around ₹31 crore on Saturday, taking its total India collection to approximately ₹381.11 crore.
The strong performance is being driven by massive fan interest, especially among Marvel audiences, with theatres witnessing strong occupancy during the weekend.
The film is expected to add more numbers on Sunday as more viewers turn up for the action-packed superhero entertainer.
The South Indian release DC: The Bloody Valentine has performed better among the new releases. The film opened with a collection of around ₹4.40 crore on its first day and saw growth on Saturday with earnings of nearly ₹6.70 crore.
Its total collection has reached around ₹11.10 crore, giving it a stronger opening compared to other fresh releases.
Pankaj Tripathi’s Oh My Dog, which revolves around the emotional relationship between humans and dogs, had a slower start.
The film earned approximately ₹90 lakh on its opening day and collected around ₹1.10 crore on Saturday. Its overall box office collection currently stands near ₹2 crore.
Despite positive expectations due to its emotional storyline and strong cast, the film has struggled to attract large crowds in its opening days.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continues to hold its position at the box office. Around three weeks after release, the film collected nearly ₹4.77 crore on Saturday, pushing its India total collection to around ₹165.40 crore.
The film has maintained steady performance due to Nolan’s global fan base and strong audience response.
The weekend has delivered mixed results for different films. While Spider-Man: Brand New Day has established a massive lead, DC: The Bloody Valentine has managed a promising opening. Meanwhile, Oh My Dog faces a challenging road ahead as it competes against big-budget entertainers.
The coming days will determine whether the new releases can sustain their momentum or if Spider-Man’s dominance will continue at the box office.
