After Delhi, Kathmandu Airport hit by technical problem affecting flights

New Delhi: Flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, were suddenly halted on Saturday evening. According to airport officials, a technical fault in the runway's airfield lighting system forced a temporary halt to all flights. The problem, which occurred at 5:30 p.m. local time, caused delays to incoming and outgoing flights. Five Flights Currently On Hold "At least five flights are currently on hold due to a problem with the runway lighting system. All domestic and international flights are being affected," airport spokesperson Renji Sherpa said. He added that technical teams are working to resolve the issue immediately and flights will resume as soon as it is rectified.
