CBSE postpones Board Exams of Class 12 in Gulf countries amid escalating Middle East conflict

CBSE has postponed several Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in Gulf countries due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Exams scheduled between March 2 and March 11 for Class 10 have been cancelled, while the Class 12 exam on March 7 has also been deferred.

New Delhi: Amid ongoing tensions and war-like situation in the Middle East, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a major decision. In light of the security situation, Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled in Gulf countries have been postponed. The board stated that this decision was taken in light of the deteriorating situation in West Asia and the safety of students.

Class 10 exams have been cancelled

According to information released by the CBSE, Class 10 exams scheduled for March 7th to 11th, 2026, have been cancelled. Additionally, exams scheduled for March 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th have also been postponed. The board has stated that new dates will be announced later.

Class 12 exams have been postponed

The CBSE has also clarified that the Class 12 exams scheduled for March 7th have also been postponed. The board will soon issue new guidelines regarding the upcoming exams, scheduled to begin March 9th. Students and parents are currently awaiting official information from the board.

Concerns Increased Due to War

The ongoing tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran have now entered their eighth day. According to reports, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched the 23rd phase of "Operation True Promise 4," using new-generation missile technology. This military action has created a sensitive security situation across the region. In this environment, concerns have increased regarding the safety of students and examination centers.

The Board has clarified that new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. Furthermore, the CBSE has stated that it will review the current situation on Saturday, March 7, 2026, and issue necessary guidelines regarding the examinations scheduled for Monday, March 9, 2026. Currently, no new official updates have been issued by the CBSE or its officials regarding this matter.
