The equipment was being moved from England’s pre-tournament camp in Florida to Swope Soccer Village, where preparations were underway before the squad’s arrival.

Police Confirm Investigation Underway

Kansas City police said they are investigating the theft of equipment from a team vehicle.

“We are investigating a possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing this evening,” police said, as quoted by Reuters.

Authorities added that two “subjects of interest” have been taken into custody while the investigation continues.

Balls and Boots Among Missing Items

According to British media reports cited by Reuters, footballs and boots were among the items believed to have been stolen. Officials have not yet confirmed the full extent of the loss.

The incident has raised concerns ahead of England’s early training preparations for the tournament.

England are set to compete in Group L of the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. The Three Lions are aiming to end their long wait for a major international trophy, with their last title win coming in 1966.

The team will begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 18 (IST).
