Indian Film Festival held in Israel; These famous films screened in various parts of country

Six films were screened on this occasion, celebrating the legacy of Indian cinema. The Indian Embassy had previously organized a film festival in February this year, which was well-received by India enthusiasts, leading to the second edition.

Mumbai: This year, the Indian Film Festival was welcomed in Haifa, Israel. Despite the recent large-scale protests in Israel's capital, Jerusalem, over 200 people attended the opening ceremony of the Indian Film Festival. The Indian Embassy, ​​in collaboration with the Haifa Municipality, organized the opening ceremony of the film festival on Thursday.

Second edition of the festival held
Six films were screened on this occasion, celebrating the legacy of Indian cinema. The Indian Embassy had previously organized a film festival in February this year, which was well-received by India enthusiasts, leading to the second edition.

These films screened in Israel
Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman called it an important initiative. As part of the festival, Indian films were screened in various parts of Israel.
During the two-week event, films such as Padmaavat, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Jawaan, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Andhadhun, and 12th Fail were screened in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Dimona.

Purpose of the Film Festival
Sarvjeet Sudan, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy, ​​expressed gratitude to the city of Haifa for its support in bringing Indian cinema closer to Israeli audiences. Sudan said, "Indian films reflect the spirit of India—its cultural diversity, emotions, values, and traditions. Through this festival, we hope to build cultural bridges and good relations between India and Israel."

Around 46,000 Indians work in various sectors in Israel.
