New Delhi: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has claimed that his country has delivered a “resounding and shocking response” to the United States and Israel. He made this statement on the occasion of Iran’s New Year, ‘Nowruz,’ which he designated as the year of “national unity and security, alongside a resistance economy.”
Meanwhile, sounds of multiple explosions were heard in Iran’s capital, Tehran. Attacks in various parts of the city have created an atmosphere of fear among the populace. However, despite this, people were still seen shopping for the New Year in the markets, though the crowds remained lighter than usual, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Israel has accused Iran of carrying out an attack near holy sites in Jerusalem. Following an explosion in the Old City area—located near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Western Wall, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre—a large crater was formed. Israel described this incident as an “attack on religious sites.”
This conflict has now been ongoing for nearly four weeks. Iran and its allies have also been accused of carrying out attacks in Oman and Turkey; however, Iran has dismissed these allegations, labeling them an “Israeli conspiracy.”
In his message, Mojtaba Khamenei stated that the unity of the nation’s people constitutes its greatest strength. He asserted that it is precisely because of this unity that the enemy has been weakened and is now issuing confused and contradictory statements.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran is suffering heavy losses and that the conflict could come to an end soon. However, he also indicated that a ground operation might become necessary.
The situation in the Middle East remains extremely tense. Amidst a continuous exchange of attacks and retaliatory strikes, it is evident that the prospects of the conflict ending anytime soon remain slim, and the situation could deteriorate further.
