Air Canada Express Aircraft Hits Fire Vehicle at LaGuardia
New York: A major plane crash occurred at LaGuardia Airport in New York, USA, on Monday. An Air Canada Express plane collided with a fire truck parked at the airport, causing chaos at the scene. The impact was so severe that the front of the plane was severely damaged and several people were injured.
Emergency services at the airport were activated immediately after the accident. The injured were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Airport administration and security agencies worked to control the situation to prevent any major damage.
Following the accident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily halted all flights at the airport. Due to this ground stop, no flights were able to take off or land. Many flights were diverted to other airports, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
Following the incident, several videos and photos are rapidly going viral on social media. These videos show the damaged aircraft and rescue teams working on the scene. However, officials have urged people to ignore rumors and rely only on official information.
Similar incidents have occurred at LaGuardia Airport before. In October 2025, two planes collided on a taxiway, and in 2016, a plane skidded off the runway. However, those incidents did not cause major damage.
An investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched. Initial estimates suggest that a lack of coordination between the aircraft and the fire engine or a technical malfunction may have contributed to the accident. Officials say the exact cause will be revealed only after the investigation is complete. All necessary steps are being taken to prioritize passenger safety.
