A Jaish commander’s confession confirms Masood Azhar’s family was killed in India’s Bahawalpur airstrike. The revelation exposes Pakistan’s false claims and intensifies global pressure for action against terrorism. Read an exclusive analysis by veteran journalist Manoj Tibrewal Aakash.
New Delhi: On April 22, 2025, a horrific terrorist attack in Pallagam, Jammu and Kashmir, killed 26 innocent civilians. Jaish-e-Mohammed was believed to be behind the attack. The Indian government resolved to retaliate, and on the night of May 7, the Indian Air Force carried out "Operation Sindoor" against Jaish bases in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
Senior journalist Manoj Tibrewal Aakash said in his special show 'The MTA Speaks' that a few days after this operation, a video of a Jaish-e-Mohammed commander surfaced, in which he admitted that Masood Azhar's family and several senior associates were killed in the strike.

According to the commander, approximately 10 of Azhar's family members and four top associates were killed in the attack. He also stated that trainers and operational members were also present at the compound. This admission confirms that India conducted precise military action and targeted only terrorist targets.
The Indian Air Force claimed that the operation was a limited and strategic one, targeting only terrorist targets and not causing any damage to civilian areas. In addition to Jaish, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen targets were also damaged.
Pakistan claimed that India targeted mosques and civilian areas in the attack, killing 31 civilians. However, the Jaish commander's statement has weakened Pakistan's claim. The video was highlighted by the international media, increasing pressure on Pakistan to take strong action against terrorist organizations like Jaish and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The United Nations, the United States, and European countries have urged Pakistan to take decisive action against terrorists operating on its soil. Meanwhile, India maintained restraint and simply stated that it had exercised the right to self-defense.

The confession of the Jaish commander has falsified Pakistan's claim that it attempts to distance itself from terrorism. The killing of Masood Azhar's family will also impact Jaish's internal politics and morale. This further increases the likelihood of international support for India's tough stance.
