PM Modi announces Rs 6,500 crore development projects in Assam
Dispur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced development projects worth Rs 6,500 crore in Darang, Assam and addressed a huge public gathering. During this, he attacked the Congress party sharply and said, "I am a devotee of Lord Shiva, I swallow all the poison," but when someone is insulted, I cannot bear it.
PM Modi started his address by paying tribute to Bhupen Hazarika. He told that recently he got a chance to attend the program organized on the birthday of great singer and musician Bhupen Hazarika, who was awarded Bharat Ratna. He said that the double engine government of BJP is engaged with full devotion in fulfilling the dreams of the great personalities and ancestors of Assam.

PM Modi, quoting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, strongly condemned the statement of the Congress President in which derogatory remarks were made about Bhupen Hazarika. He said that when the Government of India honoured Bhupen Da with Bharat Ratna, the same day the Congress President had said that Modi is giving Bharat Ratna to 'dancers and singers'. Modi called this statement insulting to Assam and the entire country.
The PM said, "The wounds that Pandit Nehru had inflicted on the people of North-East after the 1962 India-China war have not healed even today. The current generation of Congress is rubbing salt on those wounds. I can bear as much abuse as I can personally, but when someone else is insulted, I cannot tolerate it."
He also made it clear that for him the public is his God. "If the voice of my soul does not come out after going to my God, then where else will it come out. He is my master, he is my revered one, and he is my remote control."
