New name in Nepal politics: Kulman Ghising—Solver of power crisis
Kathmandu: A new and influential name has emerged amidst the current political upheaval in Nepal—Kulman Ghising. Ghising is a civil engineer and public policy advisor by profession, but he got real recognition due to ending the power crisis (load shedding) in Nepal. Among the general public, he is seen as an honest and result-oriented officer.
Kulman Ghising was born on 25 November 1970 in Rameshhap, Nepal. After completing his initial education from there, he reached the city of Jamshedpur in India, where he obtained a degree in electrical engineering from the Regional Institute of Technology (now NIT Jamshedpur).

However, he was prematurely removed from NEA in March 2025. Several allegations were leveled against him:
Is Balendra Shah more hardline towards India than KP Oli? Should India be concerned?
Despite these allegations, his image in the eyes of the general public remained that of a clean and honest officer. Kulman Ghising is not just an engineer but has become a symbol of public service and transparency.
Today, when Nepal is struggling with political instability, administrative leaders like Ghising are being seen as a possible solution. His technical ability, grounded understanding, and willingness to work for the people have made him a credible leader.
