London: The prestigious Wimbledon Championships 2026 begin on Monday, June 29, with the world's top tennis stars set to compete at the All England Club in London. Defending men's champion and World No.1 Jannik Sinner will headline the tournament as he aims to retain the title he won last year by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
Sinner enters Wimbledon after a disappointing second-round exit at the French Open, where he was beaten by Argentina's Juan Manuel Cerundolo. The Italian will begin his Wimbledon campaign against Serbia's Miomir Kecmanović and could face 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in a blockbuster semifinal if both progress through the draw.
The biggest attraction in the women's draw is the return of tennis legend Serena Williams. The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion will compete in a major tournament for the first time since the 2022 US Open, having stepped away from professional tennis after announcing she was "evolving away" from the sport.
Serena will compete in both singles and doubles. She opens her singles campaign against Australia's Maya Joint and is projected to meet defending champion Iga Swiatek in the third round if both advance.
In the women's doubles competition, Serena will reunite with her sister Venus Williams. The iconic duo will face Argentina's Solana Sierra and Colombia's Camila Osorio in the opening round.
One of the standout matches in the men's first round features Taylor Fritz taking on Britain's Jack Draper. Fritz reached the Wimbledon semifinals last year, while Draper continues his rise after making the US Open 2024 semifinals and will look to make a deep run on home soil.
