New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Monday addressed a press conference at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi regarding the Congress ongoing signature campaign against alleged vote theft.
Shivakumar said that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have also visited Karnataka and Bengaluru to raise awareness about the issue. He further added that the Congress has investigated several instances of alleged vote theft in Karnataka. “Many such cases have been found in the state as well. ” The party’s investigation has revealed that vote manipulation is taking place in several states across the country. Irregularities such as the deletion of names of voters belonging to Scheduled Castes, backward classes, and minorities from the electoral rolls, as well as the creation of multiple voter IDs at the same location, have been uncovered during this probe.

Shivakumar said that Congress party workers have launched a nationwide campaign to expose this electoral fraud related to vote theft. Under this campaign, more than 1.21 crore signatures have been collected. “We will continue our fight against electoral malpractice,” he asserted.
Shivakumar further accused the Election Commission of failing to act impartially. “The Election Commission knows about the irregularities and what is going on, but it is not doing justice to the voters of the country, including those in Bihar,” he said.

The Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that vote theft is happening across India. “Signatures against this malpractice are pouring in from all over the country. We are fighting to protect India’s strong democracy and electoral system. Our fight will continue until such fraudulent practices are completely eradicated,” he emphasized.
On this occasion, Shivakumar also displayed several sealed boxes containing signatures collected from Karnataka against vote theft. The boxes were labeled with the names of their respective locations and polling centers. Several other Congress leaders were also present at the event.
