Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in the Sharavali Industrial Area of ​​Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, on Friday morning. The fire broke out at the Mangal Murti Knit Dyeing Company, which was engaged in dyeing and washing textiles. The incident occurred at around 9:15 am.

As smoke was seen rising from the company, panic gripped employees and local residents. The Kongaon Police Station and the Fire Department were immediately informed of the incident.

Fire Brigade Takes Charge

Upon receiving the information, a Kongaon police team and several fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene. The fire was so severe that additional fire engines had to be called in to control it.

Fire Brigade Officer Nitin Lad explained that the rapid spread of the fire was due to the chemicals and flammable materials stored in the company, which are used in the dyeing process. He said that efforts are currently underway to control the fire, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

Possible Cause: Short Circuit or Chemical Reaction

According to officials, preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit or a chemical reaction.

The company stored a large quantity of chemicals, dyes, and dyeing materials, which caused the fire to engulf the entire premises. The flames were so intense that other nearby industrial units were alerted.

No Casualties, But Significant Losses Feared

Relief is that no casualties have been reported in the accident. Workers and employees working in the company were evacuated in time, averting a major disaster.

However, the fire completely reduced the entire factory to ashes, which is expected to cause significant economic losses. Thick smoke rising from the factory was visible for several kilometers.
