Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married senior journalist Nidhi Razdan, with the couple announcing the news through social media posts on Saturday. Their announcement has drawn widespread attention, bringing together two prominent names from the fields of politics and journalism.
Abdullah shared photographs of himself with Razdan and captioned the post, “A new journey began yesterday,” indicating that the wedding took place on Friday, October 30. Razdan also shared photographs on social media, writing, “It's done bro,” accompanied by a ring emoji. The couple chose to announce the personal milestone through their own social media accounts. Their posts quickly attracted attention from followers and well-wishers.
The announcement comes around three months after the Supreme Court dissolved Omar Abdullah's marriage to his estranged wife, Payal Abdullah, on July 31, 2026, following a settlement between the two.
The former couple had jointly sought dissolution of their marriage by mutual consent and agreed to resolve their pending disputes. They had married in 1994 and have two sons.
Omar Abdullah is the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and a senior National Conference leader. Nidhi Razdan is a well-known journalist who has reported extensively on national politics and international affairs. The wedding marks a significant personal milestone for both.
While Abdullah continues to discharge his responsibilities as Chief Minister, the couple has shared the news of their new beginning publicly through photographs and brief messages.
