New Delhi: The official Facebook page of Samajwadi Party (SP) National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was suddenly suspended on Friday. The incident caused a stir on social media and in political circles. However, the page has now been restored.

After account restore he wrote on Facebook, "My importance from the whole revolution is to see the most suppressed person of society at the summit of power.”

Technical Reason or Political Pressure?

It is not yet clear whether the sudden disappearance of the Facebook page was due to a technical error, a reporting issue, or political pressure. No official statement has yet been issued by Facebook or Akhilesh Yadav.

During the account suspension, it was noticed that Akhilesh Yadav's recent posts remembering his father, former Defense Minister and SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, had also disappeared. He had shared these posts on Mulayam Singh Yadav's death anniversary.

SP Leaders And Supporters Expressed Displeasure

Following this incident, Samajwadi Party leaders and supporters were understandably outraged. Atul Pradhan, SP MLA from Meerut, said, "The government cannot remove Akhilesh Yadav from the hearts of the people. Closing his Facebook page will not end his popularity."

SP leader Pooja Shukla also posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying that Facebook suspended Akhilesh Yadav's page without any warning or notice, which is an attempt to suppress democracy. She advised Facebook to "stay within its limits."

SP supporters have breathed a sigh of relief after the page was restored. A large number of people have reactivated their social media pages and are sharing posts in support of their leader.
