New Delhi: Parliament is set to resume at 11 a.m. today on Monday after repeated uproar and disruptions last week. Opposition protests over the India-US trade deal and references to former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane's yet-unpublished book on the 2020 Galwan conflict virtually paralyzed proceedings in both houses. The situation led to Prime Minister Narendra Modi abstaining from Lok Sabha proceedings and responding to the President's address in the Rajya Sabha.

Political tensions escalate outside Parliament

The conflict within Parliament also played out outside. Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, called MP Ravneet Bittu, who had left the Congress and joined the BJP, a "traitor," sparking a new political controversy. This statement has further intensified political rhetoric, with both sides launching sharp attacks against each other.

It is expected that both the government and the opposition will intensify their strategies on pending issues.

What will happen in Lok Sabha on Monday?

The Lok Sabha proceedings will begin with Question Hour. Issues raised under Rule 377 will then be discussed, followed by a general discussion on the Union Budget 2026-27.

Opposition strategy meeting today

Before today's proceedings, leaders of the INDI alliance will meet at 10 a.m. in the office of Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
