New Delhi: The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections have been announced. This time, the elections will be held in two phases, with voting taking place on November 6th and 11th. The Election Commission also announced that by-elections will be held on the same day for eight seats in six states and one union territory. The results will be announced on November 14th, along with the Bihar election results.

The decision to implement a two-phase election system in Bihar was made following demands from the BJP and RJD to facilitate voter turnout and ensure efficient election administration. The Bihar Assembly has a total of 243 seats, and extensive preparations are underway for the elections across the entire assembly constituency.

The Election Commission has also announced by-elections in eight assembly constituencies across seven states. These by-elections are due to vacant seats for various reasons.

By-elections for 8 seats in six states and union territories

1. Budgam and Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir, where the seat has become vacant due to the resignation of Omar Abdullah and the death of Devendra Singh Rana.

2. A by-election will be held in the Anta Assembly constituency of Rajasthan due to the disqualification of Kanwarlal.

3. A by-election will be held in the Ghatsila Scheduled Tribe constituency of Jharkhand due to the death of Ramdas Soren.

4. A by-election is being held in Jubilee Hills, Telangana due to the death of Manganti Gopinath.

5. A by-election is being held in Tarn Taran, Punjab due to the death of Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal.

6. A by-election will be held in the Dampa Scheduled Tribe constituency of Mizoram due to the death of Mr. Lalrintluanga Sailo.

7. A by-election will be held in Nuapada, Odisha, due to the death of Shri Rajendra Dholakia.
