Chalo Sansad: CJP Claims Truck Loaded With Stones Parked Near Jantar Mantar; Section 163 Enforced in Delhi

New Delhi: Hours before the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) proposed "Chalo Sansad" march on Monday, the party alleged that a truck carrying stones had been parked near Jantar Mantar, claiming it could be used to falsely implicate peaceful protesters. Delhi Police had not responded to the allegation at the time of publication.

The development comes as authorities imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across the New Delhi district and significantly tightened security ahead of the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session.

CJP Makes Fresh Allegations

In a post on X,  a CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared a video that he claimed showed a truck loaded with stones parked near the protest site. He alleged that the vehicle could be part of an attempt to portray peaceful demonstrators as violent.

Dipke also claimed that a damaged vehicle had been positioned near Jantar Mantar and alleged it could later be used to blame protesters for vandalism. These allegations have not been independently verified, and Delhi Police had not issued an official response when this report was filed.

Section 163 in Force Across New Delhi

Delhi Police said no permission had been sought or granted for the proposed march towards Parliament.

Authorities have enforced Section 163 of the BNSS across the New Delhi district, restricting unlawful assemblies, rallies and processions. According to the police, demonstrations are permitted only at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar and require prior approval.

Police also warned that violations could invite action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.

Security Tightened Around Parliament

Security has been stepped up across central Delhi, including Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street, Central Vista and Connaught Place.

Multiple layers of barricades, enhanced CCTV surveillance, anti-sabotage checks and extensive vehicle screening have been put in place. Additional Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel have also been deployed to maintain law and order during the Monsoon Session.

Protest to Continue

The CJP has announced that its "Chalo Sansad" march will go ahead as part of its campaign seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and demanding reforms in the education sector over issues including the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

The march after activist Sonam Wangchuk was shifted from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital following a deterioration in his health during an indefinite hunger strike. From the hospital, Wangchuk said he would end his fast if the Centre accepted responsibility for alleged failures in the education system or if political leaders assured him the issues would be raised in Parliament.
