Jammu and Kashmir CM opens Asia’s largest Tulip Garden for public in Srinagar

Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, marking the start of spring and the tourism season in Kashmir. Located at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range and overlooking Dal Lake, the garden showcases more than 70 varieties of tulips along with other spring flowers, attracting thousands of tourists and locals every year.

Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday threw open Asia’s largest tulip garden, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, for visitors in Srinagar, marking the onset of spring and the beginning of the tourism season in Kashmir.

Scenic Location Overlooking Dal Lake

Located at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range and overlooking the famous Dal Lake, the garden is expected to attract thousands of tourists and locals eager to witness the vibrant display of blooming flowers.

Over 70 Varieties of Tulips on Display

The garden features over 70 varieties of tulips this year, along with other spring flowers including Hyacinth, Daffodil, Muscari and Ranunculus, adding to the colourful floral spectacle.

Major Attraction During Spring Season

Every year, the garden draws large numbers of tourists, nature enthusiasts and photographers from across the country and abroad during the blooming season. The vibrant rows of flowers set against the scenic backdrop of mountains and the lake make it one of the most visited attractions in Kashmir during spring.

Authorities Make Visitor Arrangements

Authorities have also made special arrangements for transportation, parking, security and other visitor facilities to manage the expected rush of tourists and ensure a smooth experience for visitors throughout the blooming season.
