New Delhi: Active corona cases has been decreased in the country during the last three days and by Tuesday morning the number of active cases came down to 6836. Earlier, the total number of active cases on Sunday and Monday was 7383 and 7264 respectively.
Death In Last 24 Hours
During the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 109 due to the death of one more patient due to corona infection and with the decrease of 428 cases, the total number of active cases has come down to 6836. At the same time, with the recovery of 1168 patients, the total number of people who have got rid of this virus till now has reached 14772. On May 22, there were only 257 active cases of corona in the country.
According to the data released today by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, one patient has died of corona infection in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. During this period, while 14 states and union territories saw an increase in corona cases, 11 states have seen a decrease in active cases.
Karnataka On Top
In the last 24 hours, the highest number of active cases of corona infection have been reported from Karnataka (105), Haryana (12), Punjab (10) and Rajasthan (29), while Kerala (261), Delhi (94), Gujarat (185) and Maharashtra (28) have reported fewer cases.
According to health department officials, the infection is being caused by newly emerging variants, especially LF.7, XFG, JN.1 and the recently identified NB.1.8.1 subvariant. These variants are under investigation.
Ministry Data
According to the ministry data, out of 32 states and union territories in the country, 29 have reported active cases of corona, while three states Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh have no active cases of corona infection yet.
According to the ministry’s data, Kerala is the worst-affected state in terms of infection, although its number has come down to 1659 with 261 active cases falling till this morning. In the national capital, the total number of infected has come down to 555 after 94 cases decreased. In Maharashtra, the total number of infected has come down to 512 with 28 cases decreasing and in Gujarat, the number of cases has come down to 1248.
747 Cases In West Bengal
Apart from this, there are 747 active cases in West Bengal, 696 in Karnataka, 222 in Tamil Nadu, 278 in Uttar Pradesh, 251 in Rajasthan, 103 in Haryana, 137 in Madhya Pradesh, 77 in Andhra Pradesh, 52 in Odisha, 51 in Chhattisgarh, 37 in Bihar, 45 in Sikkim, 37 in Punjab, 32 in Jharkhand, 22 in Assam, 19 in Manipur, 15 in Jammu and Kashmir, nine each in Telangana and Puducherry, seven in Uttarakhand, five each in Goa and Ladakh, four in Tripura, and one each in Chandigarh and Nagaland.
