Indore: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday began its three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting in Indore, bringing together nearly 400 functionaries and representatives of organisations inspired by the Sangh for discussions on organisational restructuring, centenary programmes and emerging national concerns.

The high-profile gathering, led by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, comes at a significant juncture following the organisation’s centenary year. The deliberations are expected to shape its future expansion strategy, social outreach initiatives and implementation roadmap for the Panch Parivartan campaign.

Mohan Bhagwat, Dattatreya Hosabale Open Meeting at Daly College

The meeting commenced at the prestigious Daly College in Indore, where Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale formally inaugurated the proceedings by offering floral tributes to a portrait of Bharat Mata.

The venue has witnessed elaborate security arrangements, with senior RSS functionaries and representatives from across the country participating in the deliberations. The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal is the organisation’s principal executive body.

According to RSS publicity functionary Narendra Kumar, participants include Sangh office-bearers and representatives of 32 organisations inspired by the RSS. The meeting is scheduled to continue until November 4, with discussions covering organisational priorities, future programmes and contemporary social and national issues.

RSS Centenary Programmes and Panch Parivartan Under Review

A major component of the meeting is the review of programmes conducted during the RSS centenary celebrations, which marked 100 years of the organisation’s journey. The deliberations will assess the Panch Parivartan campaign, the expansion of Sangh activities and plans to sustain and implement these initiatives beyond the centenary year.

The Panch Parivartan framework encompasses social harmony, environmental responsibility, family awareness, Swadeshi and national self-awareness, and civic duties. The RSS has sought to take these themes to different sections of society through outreach programmes and interactions.

The meeting is expected to examine experiences from these initiatives and formulate strategies for their continued implementation through social organisations and grassroots networks.

More Than 13,000 New Shakhas Added in a Year

Organisational expansion is another important focus of the meeting. According to RSS functionaries, the organisation currently operates more than one lakh daily shakhas across the country and has added over 13,000 new shakhas during the past year.

The review will assess the expansion of the Sangh’s grassroots network and discuss ways to strengthen existing shakhas while extending organisational activities to additional locations. The meeting will also deliberate on proposed structural changes and future organisational planning, with implications for the coordination and implementation of Sangh activities across its national network.

Digital Platforms, Drug Abuse and Global Developments on Agenda

The meeting is also expected to address contemporary issues highlighted by Mohan Bhagwat in his Vijayadashami address in Nagpur last month. RSS functionaries said discussions would include content on new media platforms, foreign interference in India, the global situation and growing concerns surrounding drug abuse.

The deliberations are expected to examine ways to communicate the organisation’s perspectives on these issues to society and develop awareness initiatives, particularly concerning substance abuse and its impact on young people.

The broader national and social developments being discussed at the meeting come amid heightened political and public discourse over several issues across the country.

Exhibition Highlights RSS Activities and Historic Bhojshala

An exhibition at the meeting venue showcases Dhar’s historic Bhojshala monument alongside displays highlighting RSS activities and other themes.

The gathering is being held in the Malwa region of western Madhya Pradesh, an area regarded as an important organisational base for the Sangh.

The meeting's proceedings and deliberations are expected to provide an indication of the RSS’s priorities as it moves beyond its centenary year and prepares its next phase of organisational and social outreach. The RSS was founded by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur on September 27, 1925, on Vijayadashami.

The three-day meeting will continue through November 4, with the RSS expected to review centenary activities, expansion initiatives and organisational priorities before outlining its future course. The concluding day is expected to bring further details on the deliberations and planned initiatives through a media briefing by the organisation’s general secretary.
