Covid-19: Active cases rise slightly in India, Kerala on top

New Delhi: Covid-19 is under control in India but there is a slight increase in active cases. On 23 June morning, the number of active Covid cases has been recorded at 4425 across the country. Kerala still has the highest number of corona cases. West Bengal is at number two. A slight increase in the number of Covid cases has also been seen in Rajasthan.

However, the Union Health Ministry has said that people do not need to panic. All state governments have been instructed to make adequate arrangements.

In the last 24 hours, a corona virus infected patient has died in Chhattisgarh. The deceased already had many serious diseases and had multi-organ failure. The good thing is that the state governments are alert and are claiming adequate arrangements and availability of hospitals. Apart from this, the recovery rate is also improving. In the last 24 hours, 664 patients have returned home after recovering from corona.

Delhi Active Cases

The number of active covid cases is 462. All government hospitals have been instructed to remain alert with adequate oxygen cylinders, beds and other preparations.

Kerala On Top

Kerala still has the highest number of active covid cases in the country. However, there has been a decrease in active cases in the last 24 hours. There are 840 corona patients in the state. The government has appealed to wear masks in public places.

West Bengal

The number of active cases in West Bengal is 747 and the Bengal Health Ministry has appealed to wear masks as a precaution in view of monsoon and covid cases.

Rajasthan

The number of active covid cases in Rajasthan has increased to 206, but the state government has said that there are adequate arrangements in the hospitals. An appeal has been made to contact the doctor immediately in case of covid symptoms.

How Effective Are Vaccines

A team of experts conducted a study on the ongoing corona infection in many countries of the world. In which researchers found that the XFG variant, also known as Stratus, has two spike mutations. These help to avoid antibodies targeting corona. One of these mutations also helps it evade a broad range of antibodies, making it easier for the immune system to neutralise it and spread the infection.
