Temperature Soars in Delhi, Clear Skies to Keep Heat Rising
New Delhi: With the onset of March, the capital Delhi has been hit by the heat. Thursday was recorded as the hottest day of the season so far. Bright sunshine and rising temperatures have made people feel the heat. Although a slight chill is still felt in the morning and evening, the Meteorological Department predicts that temperatures may rise further in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 34.3 degrees Celsius, several degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 18.2 degrees Celsius. The bright sunshine made the day's heat palpable, and people were seen avoiding leaving their homes during the afternoon.
Variations in minimum temperatures also occurred in different areas of the capital. The Ridge area recorded 18.2 degrees Celsius, Aya Nagar 18.1 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road 17 degrees Celsius, and Palam 16.1 degrees Celsius. According to meteorologists, this rising temperature indicates that the heat may intensify in the coming days.
During the last 24 hours, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, which was 3 to 5 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature remained around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, this increase in temperature indicates an increase in heat in the early days of March.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that temperatures may increase further in the coming seven days. According to the forecast, the maximum temperature may increase by about 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may also increase by 2 to 3 degrees. This will make the impact of the heat wave in Delhi more pronounced.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Delhi will remain normal between March 6 and 11. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 15 to 19 degrees Celsius.
Clear skies are expected on March 6, 7, and 8, with no strong winds expected. Light clouds are expected between March 9 and 11, but no rain is currently forecast.
Weather experts say the heat may intensify as March progresses. Therefore, people are being advised to avoid the midday sun, drink plenty of water, and wear light clothing. This onset of heat in the capital is expected to intensify in the coming days.
