New Delhi: Weather conditions in Delhi-NCR are likely to remain changeable on September 18 as the region moves closer to the withdrawal phase of the monsoon. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital may witness partly cloudy skies, while some areas could receive light rainfall or drizzle due to local weather conditions.
However, the weather department has not issued any alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms or severe weather conditions in Delhi-NCR.
The IMD forecast suggests that Delhi’s minimum temperature may remain between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius.
Morning hours are likely to remain relatively pleasant, but humidity and warm conditions may increase during the afternoon. Weather stations across the city are also expecting similar conditions, with temperatures in areas like Palam and Safdarjung likely to remain around 34 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed rainfall and cloudy weather on Thursday. Similar conditions may continue on Friday, with intermittent cloud cover and chances of light showers in some locations.
The IMD has clarified that there is currently no warning for heavy rainfall, strong winds or thunderstorms. Residents may experience different weather conditions across areas, with some locations receiving brief showers while others may only see cloudy skies.
The withdrawal process of the southwest monsoon from northwest India is expected to begin soon. The IMD has indicated that conditions may become favourable for monsoon withdrawal from parts of western Rajasthan around September 19.
According to the seven-day forecast, Delhi is likely to witness clearer skies after September 21, with rainfall activity gradually reducing. The daytime temperature is expected to remain largely stable in the coming days.
