Heatwave-Like Conditions Likely As Temperature May Touch 42°C Today (Image Internet)
New Delhi: Capital is likely to witness another hot and dry day on Thursday, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 42 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature may remain close to 35 degrees Celsius, indicating little relief even during the early morning hours.
According to the weather forecast, the mercury is expected to stay on the higher side throughout the day. Residents may experience intense heat, especially during the afternoon when outdoor movement could become uncomfortable.
The wind speed in Delhi is expected to remain around 6.3 kmph, while gusts may reach up to 6.81 kmph. Winds are likely to move from around 274 degrees. However, the light wind movement may not provide much relief from the heat.
The sunrise in Delhi was recorded at 05:24 AM, while sunset is expected at 07:22 PM on Thursday. With long daylight hours and high temperatures, people have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
As per the seven-day weather prediction, Delhi may continue to remain under the grip of severe heat. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 44 degrees Celsius on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, the temperature may hover around 43 degrees Celsius, while Wednesday may bring slight relief with the maximum temperature expected at around 41 degrees Celsius.
People are advised to stay hydrated, wear light cotton clothes and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours. Children, elderly people and those with health issues should take extra precautions as high temperatures can increase the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration.
